PW 1 - Session 3 - Comedy and Style

This ten week session covers specific techniques of comedy and how to expand your versatility by exploring various singing styles.

You'll learn to hone your comedic performance skills through songs and cold reading techniques for callbacks.

We'll also cover vocal and acting techniques which you'll need in the most popular styles of musical theatre performance including legit, jazz, pop, and country.

What to prepare before you enter the room:
1. Sign in and confirm your contact info with the monitor.
2. Please give the monitor your picture and resume.
3. Prepare 2 short contrasting songs sheet music already cut
and in your key. (@ 32 bars.)
4. Prepare 1 short one-minute monologue that shows your
emotional connection and range.
5. Joshua may give you adjustments to your work.

Here is part 1 of 5 of the full performance from the 2008 Fall Showcase and Potluck Evening : The ANMT Performers' Workshop Chow and Bow Broadway Buffet

Classes starting now for the Winter Session of Performers' Workshop.

• Adult Level 1: Cabaret and Specialty Material Performance


• Learn to build your own 8 minute Cabaret Set resulting in a Cabaret Performance at the MBar in Hollywood on February 25, 2009.


• Level 1 meets for 10 sessions on Wednesday nights from 7-10 pm
  


• Adult Advanced Level 2: Ongoing Class for Advanced Performers


• Set your goals for the class and how you are going to achieve them.


• Sign up for a time online that works with your schedule and get intensive private coaching on your work in class during your assigned time.


• Advanced Level 2 meets for 6 sessions on Saturdays from 3-6 p.m. (@ twice a month)
  


• Teen Level ages 14-18: Crafting your Audition Monologues


• In this session we will learn to choose and present 2 contrasting one minute audition monologues both Contemporary and Shakespearean and then learn to use the same technique on the lyrics/monologue of an audition song.


• You will end this session with a good audition package for College Auditions and Professional Auditions as well.


• PW Teen meets 6 sessions on Saturdays from 11a.m. -2 p.m. (@ twice a month)
  


• ALL PW sessions break for the holidays from the weeks of December 20-January 21.
